What’s the future for the office?
- Posted by: Sheryl Newman
Office working was until very recently a daily occurrence that we never we never thought twice about, we just did. Regular workers would spend at least a third of their time within an office environment working on the everyday tasks at hand. But in today’s enviroment, what is the future of the office? And how as a business do you move forward to embrace the new normal?
The New Normal
Since lockdown began, almost half of the UK’s workforce is now working from home. And many companies have already hinted that this could become the future. Lockdown has been an eye opening experience for many businesses. Especially businesses looking to cut down on costs. Realising that work can carry on even if employees are working remotely. It raises questions about sustainability within an office enviroment, if the extra costs of running an office are needed, where could that money be re-invested? How do you as a business harness the tools available to you to empower a remote workforce?
Having a space for your employees to communicate, collaborate and co-ordinate is key for a successful digital workspace. It is important to have that separate dashboard for work instead of just using email. A dedicated digital dashboard is more user friendly. It is also more organised and hosts a variety of different tools to help you work better. Using a software like Microsoft Teams enhances your business communications and streamlines your daily tasks. While integrating with other Microsoft applications such as SharePoint, Planner and Outlook. With Microsoft Suite, all the tools you need to run your business digitally are at your disposal, from hosting emails to storing files to collaborating on documents. Taking the workplace digital has been progressive in the last few years but is now more relevant than ever to keep business going within the new normal.
